Dr. Aoife McDermott

Dr. Aoife McDermott is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management at Dublin City University Business School. She holds a PhD from Trinity, which she completed as a Trinity Scholar while concurrently holding a Government of Ireland Research Scholarship. Aoife has previously held a visiting appointment at DeMontfort University, Leicester and is co-director of the Health Service Research strand of the Learning, Innovation and Knowledge Research centre at DCU (www.link.dcu.ie). She holds major research grants from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and the Health Research Board. A gold medallist of Trinity College, her research has been recognised by the research methods division of the US Academy of Management. Her research concerns the impact of people-management and organisation structures on the delivery of services and the achievement of change. She is currently developing a video series on leaders in Irish society which will also be published as a book with Blackhall Publishing. Aoife has addressed several major conferences including the Irish Conference of GP trainers.
